Are you Skittish? Rosemary Flower Essence

rosemary flower essence
Are you a skittish person? Do loud noises make you jump? Have you had a trauma or tragedy in your life that makes you feel as though you would *always* rather be somewhere else? These types of behaviors could indicate that your soul is physically out of your body. And thats not really a beneficial place for you to be! Many times in life, when we fear for our lives or experience trauma, our soul literally leaves the body out of fear.

Rosemary Flower Essence brings you back into your body, fully and completely, so that you can enjoy life to the fullest. So that the endless skittish or concern that you are in danger can end. Finally!

Just like when you eat fresh rosemary and you feel a warming sensation, when you ingest it in flower essence form, it gives the soul a warming sensation and coaxes you fully back into your body.

I was recently making a batch, and had some leftover. I decided rather than waste the Mother Essence, I would take a gulp. Boy was I surprised what happened next! Sometimes we dont’ even know if we are fully in our bodies or not! Friend me on FaceBook to join in…

For Those Parents Who Follow Their Gut. YES!!! Love Those Kids!

I Love Parents Who Think Outside of the Box!
“People often think that children who can be easily guided, who always do what is asked of them, and who are easily compliant are very good children. But children who have minds of their own- who don’t want to go along with the ideas of others- are often regarded as troublesome and difficult. Problems do not usually arise until their own life experience has caused them to put things in their own Vibrational Escrow (that they are being called toward) and then someone else in their life tries to keep them from following that calling. Most of the struggle between parents and children exists because parents are not willing to allow their children to live the lives that the children have come forth to live…”

This is an excerpt from:
the astonishing power of emotions

I wholeheartedly agree with this excerpt from Jerry and Esther Hicks in The Astonishing Power of Emotions. Children these days are becoming more and more confident in their knowing. They come to the world full of their own wisdom, and they sure are sure of that! I just wanted to give a word of encouragement… for those parents whose child consistently refuse to go into a certain store, or who refuse to let anyone else win, or gravitate to the animals, or tractors… Go With Your Gut! Nurture and nourish. Go inside and keep tapping your own parenting wisdom and don’t listen to the opinions of others.

Happy Friday!

Thunderstorms: Interpretations from Native America

sacred path cards
Today Thunderstorms are forecasted to move across our state here in New Hampshire. To my pleasant surprise, this morning I pulled the Power Place card from Jamie Sam’s Sacred Path Cards.

Here is what the card talked about:
The Thunder-beings re-energize our Earth mother, since she is magnetic in nature, through the gift of lightning. The Fire Sticks, or lightning, find their way to the areas that have been drained of energy through overuse or human consumption. That is to say our bodies are fed from the electromagnetic energy of our Mother’s surface. That same energy can be renewed through Fire Sticks touching her body.

power place

Jamie often speaks about our Earth Mother, being connected to her, walking in beauty, and honoring Earth. So today I am celebrating the electromagnetic rejuvenation that I will witness with glee! Wishing you all rejuvenating fire sticks, water, and a replenishing of resources in your area. Give your blessings to the earth and she will answer you.

Witnessing the Breaking of Spirit

ice cream sundae
I was out with my family eating at Friendly’s restaurant last weekend. Sitting next to us were a mother and daughter, the mother was in her forties and the daughter was probably around 6 years old. The little girl had bright blue eyes and she was very happy and they were laughing and conversing.

The mother even got her daughter a hot fudge sundae, I had made eye contact with the little girl several times and she was full of delight!

Towards the end of the meal, the daughter had gotten bored (and probably had a huge sugar high) and was using her spoon to try and cut a crayon in half. The mother said “Don’t cut the crayon in half.” The daughter continued playing with her crayon and spoon, humming, and didn’t appear to have heard her mother.

The mother reached over and smacked the daughter’s hand hard and said “I told you not to cut the crayon.”

The daughter flinched from the heavy handed smack, (I admit I jumped a little) and spilled her hot fudge sundae and immediately started crying and screaming “It’s all your fault! Its YOUR fault!”

The mother calmly stated, “No, its both our faults. I told you not to cut the crayon.” The daughter continued crying and whining and really just didn’t understand what just happened.

This mother just removed I would say ALL, if not almost ALL trust between herself and her child. Do you agree?

My question is… why didn’t the mother explain why the daughter should not cut the crayon? So many assumptions were made on the Mother’s part. (One of the main chapters in the Four Agreements book is “Don’t Make Assumptions”).

The daughter just learned a very important lesson that will be deeply rooted in her psyche and it goes like this:

“People who love me WILL suddenly lash out and hit me for no reason”…and when it happens in her adult life it will feel vaguely familiar and she will accept it.

I think its imperative that everyone read The Four Agreements, it speaks about this kind of Conditioning illustrated in the story. This isn’t abuse in the current eyes of the law… I call it “spiritual abuse”. Its subtle and usually the abuser is completely unaware of what they are doing, they are unconscious.

This is not a new concept for most of us, its just a really strong and deep issue that could help us all raise a better generation. Its the subtleties in life that are so important to individual peace.

Sea Shakes Go South of the Border!

Sea Shakes Mexican Dinner
I admit it-I have a fetish. I love to take a picture of dinner just as its ready to serve.

Last night I made tacos with fresh garden greens. Instead of ordinary sour cream, the dinner came out like a fiesta when I used my Sea Shakes! I added these three things to the sour cream:

* 1 tsp. Herb Sea Shakes
* 1 tsp. Zesty Sea Shakes
* and a half a clove of garlic

Voila!

My taco dinner turned into Mexican Sophisticate! And I was getting seaweeds into my family in a yummy yummy way! I need seaweeds right now as Iodine is essential to balanced thyroid function. Our thyroids need attention because they control ALL of our hormone functions – and even moreso during menopause.

Carolyn Kelley of Herbal Energetics has formulated Sea Shakes – and its one of the only ways I can get seaweed into my diet as I do not really care for the taste of it alone. I use it like table salt.

Now I can add this dinner pic to my huge album of other dinners. Gives me weird satisfaction to turn healthy foods into something delicious that is not painful to eat. Maybe I was a junk food junky in a past life?! Have a great day and here’s to your health!

Herbalist’s Bio

Consider Herbs that Kill All Flus and Viruses… Decades ago in Siberia they air dropped crates of garlic…

garlic
Here’s an excerpt from my friend Chris Bashaw, an herbalist and RN who lives over on the seacoast of NH. Its a great response to the Swine Flu and a reminder about natural medicines:

Swine influenza A/H1N1 infection: What do we really know and what can we do?
By Christopher Bashaw, RN

As of April 29, 2009 the World Health Organization (WHO) reported that nine countries had officially reported 148 cases of swine influenza A/H1N1 infection; the United States reporting 91 laboratory confirmed human cases, with one death and Mexico reporting 26 confirmed human cases of infection including seven deaths…(for the entire rest of this portion of the article which documents the Swine flu and all of its scientific data, email me)

…what can we do to help ourselves against the current swine flu?

We can be proactive and keep our level of resistance up. To keep resistance up means consuming a healthy diet and not the SAD or Standard American Diet of processed foods, high fat, high sugar and corn syrup foods, chemical additives, genetically altered foods, and fast foods. Instead consume a diet high in organic fruits and vegetables, and free-range beef, poultry, and/or organic fish.

With this being difficult for many to adhere to the additional use of supplements can aid in keeping the immune system resilient. All vitamins should be food quality all natural – the following is based on Optimal Daily Allowance for adults:

a multiple vitamin 2-3 times a day with meals
vitamin C 1000mg four times a day with meals
a complete B-complex 2-3 times a day with meals.

Keeping resistance at an optimal level also means plenty of rest, but balancing that rest with adequate exercise. Water intake is also an important factor to consider, for with the proper intake of healthy water, the right minerals and nutrients our body can overcome almost anything; a good guideline of daily water intake should be half of your body weight in ounces…

Additionally the use of some common herbs can help build resistance within the body.
Cayenne or Capsicum which is known as a thermogenic (elevates metabolism), disinfectant (antibacterial and anti-parasitic), blood purifier (known in Traditional Chinese Medicine to equalize and dispense the stagnation and congestion of blood), and it has also been toted to kill flu and cold on contact. The Native First Americans and Native First Mexicans used Cayenne as a “cure all for fever”. Cayenne is relatively safe causing heat stimulation to the stomach and is best taken directly following a meal. And though it is contraindicated in “hot inflammatory conditions of the stomach” it is a useful remedy in treating bleeding stomach ulcers. Due to the intense heat of the herb it is best to take capsules of the preparation; one capsule 2-3 times a day as maintenance during flu season, though a small amount in ginger ale or cream soda is tolerable but not so therapeutic.

Garlic is another herb one can simultaneously add to their maintenance regime. Garlic is a known natural antibiotic and antiviral. Garlic’s active ingredient is allicin a sulfa containing compound. Heat kills allicin so cooked garlic forgoes its medicinal properties. The recommended dosing of garlic is ideally 1-2 raw cloves of garlic daily, but if the socially threatening thought of this turns you away consider cold prepared enteric coated garlic tablets containing 2,500 mcg daily of allicin for maintenance and prevention or 5,000 mcg of allicin daily for therapeutic acute dosing. Contraindications are that garlic is known to lower blood pressure, so be careful if you are already on anti-hypertensives as well as it being an anticoagulant or blood thinner (if already on an anticoagulant like Coumadin or Plavix, or pre-surgical one may first need to consult their medical provider.); garlic can also cause upset stomach, nausea and vomiting, facial flushing, insomnia, and rapid pulse and should be stopped and evaluated by a medical professional if persistent.

Decades ago, in Siberia, the government air dropped crates of raw garlic to successfully combat a flu epidemic raging in that country. The treatment was successful.

And lastly echinacea. In the 19th century, before the advent of sulfa drugs, it was echinacea that was prescribed for cold and flu. Typically taken at the first sign of a cold or flu it is a primary remedy for respiratory infections. Echinacea boosts the weakened immune system. It works by enhancing the immune systems already complex responses in fighting bacteria and viruses. Echinacea stimulates antibody production in turn stimulating the white blood cell count to fight infection. A contraindication in taking echinacea is cited for those with limited immune response and autoimmune disorders such as HIV, AIDs, Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, and TB- these individuals should first consult their physician. Echinacea is safe during pregnancy. Echinacea is typically taken at the first sign of a cold or flu for 7-14 days. It can be taken as a maintenance dose for two months at a time with a 2-4 day break in between (this break is important so as to not allow the body to become accustomed to the herb and in turn decrease the immune efficiency response). Recommended dosing of powdered extract is 300 mg three times a day; alcohol tincture of 3-4 ml three times a day…

Getting in Touch with Power: Flower Essence Remedy Quince

Quince in The Making
quince_sm

Quince Flower Essence

Quince is in full bloom today so I took the opportunity to harvest Quince Mother Essence. Pictured above are a few chosen flowers in distilled water, soaking in the sun and releasing their vibrations into the water. This makes the Mother Essence which is later used to create Quince Flower Essence.

Well… how can I explain Quince. Let me take a stab at it…

Have you ever been accused of being a b*? I absolutely dislike that word and it is a button-pushing word for me. It tells me my behavior is unwelcome. I try not to be a *itch.

But what if my bitch is my protector? My wise woman instinct? The masculine side of me? What if sometimes I am supposed to act this way because I am only speaking my truth when others are not listening. I am only protesting to a perspective of someone else’s that they are forcing upon me. I am standing up for my child. I am running a multi-million dollar corporation. I am making decisions and ensuring that my decisions are carried out. I am not allowing others’ opinions and subjugations of me in. I have decided what is right for me.

Yeah, you BET I’m a bitch! I’m here in full blood and if you want to mess with me, be prepared for experiencing the full woman that I am!

And while I am deciding all of these things, I am coming from a place of integrity – I am simply making the best decisions as a human on this earth and I am doing it with a loving, non-judgmental, non-manipulative nature.

That is the soul teachings of Quince. They are indicated for a soft spoken person (men too!) who has trouble being heard, is easily swayed by other people, or does too much for others. Quince teaches a person not to be afraid of being a bitch, to get in touch with their inner Animus.

Happy Harvesting!

The Courage to Meet Tremendous Challenge; Good for 2009 and All of the Glorious Changes

I think most would agree, we can all say we are facing some kind of change in our lives. Obama’s campaign word was “Change”, and the state of the world is changing.

Rock Rose Flower Essence can help us get to the flip side of our change. As we go through change, we have to let go of old things, and grasp onto new ones. For instance, learning new trades because our old ones no longer serve (job loss). Letting old things wash away and learning to say goodbye to them and look forward to the new things that will replace it.

Rock Rose Flower Essence can help us to get to the “hindsight” side of change. To embrace the changes and recognize them as gifts instead of curses. To have the courage to face the changes and turn them from a negative into a positive.

* In the most extreme level of change, Rock Rose can also be indicated for the process of dying, when the ego is gripped by the fear that it will be utterly annihilated or destroyed.

Republishing: Spring Liver Flush. Its that time again to get those sluggish livers moving!

Here is a re-post from 2007… I’ll be hosting a liver flush class soon but in the meantime, here is the recipe for the whole world to see!

Spring Liver Flush: A Tasty Way to Awaken Your Body
April 24, 2007 at 9:23 am ·

springtime

Its spring time, a great time to flush the liver. All winter we have been eating our hearty soups, meat, and products with fat in order to keep ourselves warm. Now it is time to clean our blood and renew our energy with an easy, simple Spring Liver Flush.

R E C I P E :

1/8th of a Lemon (no peels)

8 cloves of organic garlic

2 TB Apple Cider Vinegar

3 TB Raw Honey

In a blender, combine all ingredients until it becomes a mash like consistency.

Take 1 spoonful (about 1/2 Tablespoon) and eat it in the morning. Do this for three mornings in a row. Your liver will love you! The mash will go to your liver, and act as a cleansing screen for your blood. The garlic is a key ingredient here, as it is a blood thinner, detoxifier, and viral inhibitor. Honey is an anti-bacterial, helping to eliminate bacteria, the vinegar alkalizes the blood and cleanses, and the lemon also alkalizes, cleanses and offers Vitamin C and alkaloids and bioflavonoids (great for vein health). Watch the bags under your eyes, yellow tones to skin above eyes, and aches and pains fade away.

Your liver has a tough job of taking everything you put into your body, and removing anything unhealthy. The liver runs all of your blood through it about 20 times a day! Help your liver do its job by “Cleaning the Screen”. Did you know your liver is the largest organ in your body, after the skin? It weighs about 3 pounds!

We encourage the Liver Flush for whole health. You will notice a boost in energy, elimination of nagging symptoms, and increased bodily health. For even more liver cleansing and toning, try a cup of dandelion root and dandelion leaf tea. Milk thistle is also an excellent nourishing herb for assisting the liver in repairing itself.

Enjoy!
