A Loving Reminder from St. Theresa For All Those Doing Good

A Note on the Wall
in the Room
of Mother Teresa

(This handwritten sign was reportedly found on the wall of Mother Teresa’s room:)
mother theresa

People are unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered;
forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends, and some true enemies;
be successful anyway.

What you spent years building, someone could destroy overnight;
build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, others may be jealous;
be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
give the world your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.

A timely reminder to hang onto what’s really important and let the rest go. Thanks!

Thank you so much for sending me the loving wisdom of Mother Teresa.
Some years ago when I was living in a mountain village in Southern Spain I was on my way to a local orphanage to offer my natural gift of healing. Forty children from the Sahara were staying for one year. They were not orphans but sick children from poor African families. As I walked along the road towards the orphanage I heard two words drop into my mind loud and clear – “MOTHER TERESA”. How wonderful I thought to receive such a loving message. I worked giving hands on healing to these lovely children. Some had malnutrition and were given a good healthy mediteranean diet. Others had deformities and one boy was blind. One child i always remember called Witta she was about 9 years old. She wore leg irons and walked with the aid of crutches. She was born with polio and used to amble slowly around the playground. After six sessions of healing she was suddenly running around the play ground still with the aid of her sticks and wearing leg irons but a different child. She hugged and thanked me because she knew that the healing had helped her greatly. I believe all of the children benefited if only from the love that was bestowed upon them.
