Returning To The Egg, the Carrots & the Cup of Coffee

I recently attended a reiki gathering with Linda and she read aloud this story. I had forgotten the astounding kitchen wisdom in the story, and nearly fell over when I realized she was reading it from my own web site. So here it is again for anyone else needing a spiritual chime to the heart (click to read).
The Calm in the Eye of the Storm

If I had to pick a flower essence for themes of late, Indian Pink would be the one. Be the calm in the center of a storm of a changing world. We know the world needs to change, and we know the outcome will be positive. Stay the course and “be the Eye in the Center of the Storm.”
Let the negative things fall away from you, the winds blow all around you, but never through you. Find that calm stillness in the center of you, your place of power. Seek positive activities, positive people, and feel the light strong within you. Let Indian Pink help you achieve this. Don’t even SPEAK of any negatives, that is to stick your littlest pinky into the storm itself. And then you know what happens. Negativity breeds more negativity, and soon you are spinning like the rest of them.
Just LOOK at this beautiful Indian Pink. With all of this deep red movement and activity, the bright light stands tall in the center, unwavered by what happens around it. Unwavered by the contrast between yourself and whats going on around you. I can’t reiterate enough how important it is to stay positive at this time.
The Mayans predicted the collapse of our financial system as we know it, let the “Death and Taxes” of our current society fall away, and hold in your mind positive new thoughts that Anything is Possible, beyond your wildest imagination. You can watch the news and hear the futility of it all, and let it poison your own life – or you can get involved with positive enlightened people who are making positive changes and shifts. Many people are making huge positive shifts; career changes, new ideas, green ideas – as we shift and change. People are repairing instead of replacing which reduces landfills, farmers grow excited as people turn to local buying. People are planting and canning their own food. We are driving less. We are waking up, keeping our economies at a local level, supporting each other as a community.
Learn to be the Calm in the Eye of the Storm, a place of growth and enlightenment.
Keep it cool & positive kids and don’t get sucked into those whirling winds around you (which spurs me to canyon dudleya, my last post…).

Discerning the Truth: Judging, Assuming, Taking Things Personally
Here is the card I picked this morning from The Four Agreements Deck.
Practicing The Four Agreements, Today’s Chapter in Assuming Other’s Thoughts!
Have you been a little curious about why so many of Obama’s secretary picks have fallen away due to non truths? As we witness the cleaning out of those in office, I am recognizing this as a process of Discerning the Truth. Everywhere I look, the truth is being uncovered. Americans are looking closer at their government, at corporations, and at the integrity of people in general.
Do you see parallels of this going on in your life?
Are you suddenly seeing people acting without integrity, or are you getting accused unfairly? Do you know dishonest people who are now being called out?
Did you make assumptions about someone and then found out you were wrong? Assumptions, judgements, and taking things personally are all part of the stewpot that cover up the truth and make it so hard to discern. There is help! Stay the course! Read more in the Four Agreements about navigating this time in history as the old ways fall away and the new integrity establishes itself in our lives and the world.

FLOWER ESSENCE SUGGESTION
Canyon Dudleya is a great flower essence for this type of life occurence. Canyon Dudleya allows you to rise above “THE STEWPOT”; the daily drama you may experience during these times and helps you to connect with Inner Contentment. Feeling this inner contentment allows one to let go of the drama and move on without drawing it into your everday life. (Can we sprinkle this over Congress and the Senate please…)
The Choice Between $75 Prescription or a $5 Herbal Alternative is a No-Brainer.
With Economy Sour, Consumers Sweet on Herbal Meds
By LINDSEY TANNER, AP, Tue Jan 13, 5:15 pm ET
CHICAGO – The choice between $75 prescription sleeping pills or a $5 herbal alternative is a no-brainer for Cathy and Bernard Birleffi, whose insurance costs have skyrocketed along with the nation’s financial woes.
The Calistoga, Calif., couple seem to reflect a trend. With many Americans putting off routine doctor visits and self-medicating to save money, use of alternative treatments is on the rise — even though evidence is often lacking on their safety and effectiveness.
Climbing sales of herbal medicines have paralleled the tanking economy, according to an Associated Press review of recent data from market-watchers and retailers.

Comments from Wendy:
Natural healing is here. The world has re-awakened to a safer, easier, less expensive way of healing ailments that existed before drugs were invented. We are realizing again, the connection between our minds, bodys and spirits – and that when one is out of balance, the others follow. Drugs, surgery, and western medicine play an important role too! We have stopped pitching one against the other, and are now using all modalities available to achieve good health.
Here are a few quick flash thoughts that you might want to consider in starting to think about self managing an illness, saving a trip to the dr. and the cost of a prescription (you should seek the advice of an herbalist or naturopath before trying these things yourself until you are familiar with natural healing ways):
Can’t Sleep? Chamomile tea. (and stronger herbs also avail)
Flu? Elderberry Tincture.
Depressed? Reiki.
Depressed? Vitamins.
Depressed? Sunlight.
Depressed? Cut out coffee.
Exhausted? Cut out coffee.
Exhausted? Rest!
Exhausted? Eleuthro, Schizandra tea (a simple tea! not hard!)
Fibromyalgia? Cut out coffee.
Fibromyalgia? Counseling.
Fibromyalgia? Emotional support (counseling, spiritual class, friends)
Psoroisis? Allergy, usually to a drug.
Pink Eye? Chamomile Poultice.
This is a tiny piece of all kinds of alternative medicines that are available from people like myself. Please e-mail me questions you may have. It is not hard to begin saving money and healing your ailments – naturally. Just ask!
