Oh you glorious wild eggs running around the grocery store! Its like an Easter Egg Hunt! I imagine this is just the way cage free chickens lay their eggs, you have to go hunting in the grass for them. Maybe there really IS an Easter Bunny!
Seriously, though, when purchasing eggs, a grass fed chicken will have a much healthier egg than a chicken who has been fed “chicken feed”. Chicken feed is basically made from corn, which breaks down into sugar in the body, so the nutrients are much less than those found in those wild “CAGE FREE” chickens! Sounds so rebellious doesn’t it? Those wild women chickens!
Look for an orange colored yoke as opposed to a yellow colored one, that means more vitamins (lecithin, zinc, iron to name a few…). You will also notice a difference in shell hardness… healthier eggs will have harder shells.
There is another farmhouse available in Winchester, NH USA on 6.7 acres available for $184,900. That’s cheap my fellow farm seekers! cheep cheep!
